Itinerary

Day 1: Fly to Lukla for your trek through the Tamang and sherpa villages, en route to Phakding.

Day 2: Get closer to the Himalayas, viewing mountains and forests as you approach Namche Bazar. Catch your first glimpse of Everest, as well as Amadablem, Themserku and other peaks.

Day 3: Spend the day acclimatizing in Namche, unless you choose to hike to an Everest-facing hotel or Khumjung monastery.

Day 4: Proceed to Thame, with an ancient monastery, where daily rituals honor mountaineers and trekkers.

Day 5: Continue along the windy trans-Himalayan to Tibet.

Day 6: Trek uphill to the summit of Renjo-la, where you’ll see the largest glacier in Nepal’s Himalayas, Ngozumpa, as well as Everest, Makalu, Lhotse and Cho Yuo. Then, head on to Gokyo Lake.

Day 7: Take in more majestic mountain views and vistas of the ice ridge between Cho Oyu and Gyachung Kang from Gokyo Ri. Optionally, trek to Cho Oyu base camp or a lake.

Day 8: Your destination today is Dole, which you’ll reach after passing through a valley of plants and herbs that help to purify the air.

Day 9: Gradually descend, after a challenging up-and-down trek, through Phortse and Maha Danda and to Khumjung Village and its yeti skull.

Day 10: Trek two hours to Namche, among birds, goats, flowers and prayer flags, and Lukla.

Day 11: Fly to Kathmandu, with the rest of the day unscheduled.

Day 12: Bid farewell to Nepal, and fly to Kathmandu, before catching your scheduled flight back home.
