Elegant Paris stay at 17th-century boutique hotel in the Seventh Arrondissement - includes breakfast, rosé wine, an Esprit de France pass and more

For those seeking out chic digs in Paris’ Seventh Arrondissement, the quaint Hotel d'Orsay - Esprit de France seals the deal with a fabulous setting. Not only are you minutes from the famous art museum to which the hotel owes its name, but it’s just a short skip across the Seine to the Jardin des Tuileries, the Louvre, and the Place de la Concorde - the largest square in the French capital.

Housed in a late-17th-century building that was once owned by Napoleon Bonaparte's surgeon, all of the 42 Parisian-style guest rooms and suites are uniquely-styled. Expect rich colour tones, sumptuous fabrics, comfy beds dressed with high-quality linens, flatscreen TVs with digital channels, and welcome trays with Mariages Frères teas and Fauchon chocolates. Good-looking bathrooms with bathtubs and luxurious Sothys toiletries complete the high-end touches.

While there’s no restaurant, the glass-roofed dining room is perfect for kick-starting the day with buffet breakfasts loaded with delicious sweet and savoury goodies. There’s also a great honesty bar where you can play bartender until the early hours, and a team of cheery staff who’ll be on hand to help with restaurant reservations, theater tickets, and shopping recommendations.

Good to know

Please note there is a local city tax of €2.53 (per person, per night) to be paid directly to the hotel.

We like

You’ll be staying in the Left Bank, just 200 yards from the famous art museum to which the hotel owes its name. Given that all of the city’s show-stopping sights are practically on your doorstep, must-dos for first-timers and returning visitors include hitting the Golden Triangle for haute couture brands (Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent), browsing the boutiques of Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré and Boulevard Haussmann, and spending the afternoon in the Marais district. Further Parisian thrills include visiting the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris, strolling through the stunning Jardin du Luxembourg, marveling at Impressionist masterpieces at Musée d'Orsay, and seeking out the excellent chocolatiers in Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
