A pretty French escape to a charming Alsace abode with a spa in Obernai, including breakfast and sauna access, plus Christmas market availability
The picturesque town of Obernai in the heart of France’s Alsace region is a must for culture vultures and wine buffs alike. The town itself is full of original medieval and Renaissance buildings and half-timbered houses, while in the surrounding environs, you’ll find the area’s famous wine route, dotted with vineyards and wineries best known for riesling and pinot gris.
Positioned right in Obernai's town center, and housed in a traditional Alsatian house complete with wooden shuttered windows and wrought iron balconies, is the four-star, TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence-winning Le Colombier Hotel. Interiors offer up a rather more contemporary prospect, with a streamlined feel and modern fixtures in the chic lobby. The burnt-orange and metallic-grey color scheme is softened with natural wood and bold designer prints. A welcome bonus is the hotel’s wellness area, where you can make use of a light-adjustable sauna and small gym, as well as indulge in a soothing massage.
