The Biltmore

Coral Gables, Miami, Florida

Junior suite king

One Bedroom suite

A palazzo-style icon, with a AAA Four Diamond award, a AAA Five Diamond restaurant, a Donald Ross golf course and America's largest hotel pool

The Biltmore's reign began more than 90 years ago. The Beaux Arts revival was in full swing, "City Beautiful" Coral Gables needed an icon, and the palazzo-style hotel rose – in all its 13 stories – to the demand. Flash forward ten years to the Jazz Age and Swing Era, when its star was still on the rise, drawing Ginger Rogers, the Duchess of Windsor and Al Capone to its flashy galas and shows. The war era was trying, but toward the end of the century, millions of dollars in grant money breathed new life into the resort, while distinguished guests and award-winning offerings have restored it to its former glory.

Crowned with four diamonds from AAA, four stars from Forbes and Leading Hotels of the World distinction, this National Historic Landmark has renovated its bell tower’s marble columns and travertine floors, turned the 85-foot diving tower into a poolside waterfall and re-grassed its 1925-era, par-71 Donald Ross golf course. There’s a Spafinder Wellness 365 partner spa, and the dining choices have expanded to include – among others – an AAA Five Diamond French restaurant, an extravagant Sunday brunch and a cooking academy. As for the social calendar, events like Chefs Up Front dinners and Orchestra Miami performances show no sign of slowing. Long live the queen, indeed.
